Fort Leavenworth Gate Ornament Lewis and Clark Saint Ignatius Chapel was builtThis ornament, fifth in a series, features the front gate of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Fort Leavenworth, known as "The Post that opened the West" and The Best Hometown in the Army, was established in 1827 and is one of the oldest continually operating forts west of the Mississippi River. The fort is also the home of the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College. This ornament was released in 2010.
