at MTGCast, I decided to work on a Grixis control deck with what might at first glance seem like misplaced Black cards
There are several tables, a TV with a Switch and PS5 hooked up, and a coffee bar designed to look like the Hi-Hat Cafe from the Pokmon Detective Pikachu movie, complete with a furry Pikachu maquette sitting on the bar
In the above example you wouldn't be able to pay only 2 mana and drop +5/+5 on a creature (using the above example as a basis) you would have to pay for each source (6 in this case)
Most decks are happy playing this what with is essentially representing tempo and value in a pretty raw and direct stats based form, while being mid enough in cost to appeal to aggro and control
Decks pop off sooner and sooner with every passing year, and while part of that is due to the consistency and redundancy afforded to many archetypes through the sheer quantity of new cards being printed, a lot of that is tied to the Command Zone, and what is put inside of it
